When I went to make cookies the first time I used this, I decided that "just because", I'd try the cookie recipe on the back of the cardboard this came on. And the cookies are SO great! They're the best we've had, so be sure to check it out :) And, the actual cutter itself works just fine.

I love the Wilton Comfort Grip cookie cutters. They are easy to hold and comfortable to use, even for young children. They are built to be very sturdy, and the metal doesn't bend because of the comfort grip handle. They're stainless steel, so they won't rust. And, they have nice deep sides (1 3/4") making them very versatile. I like the fact that they make large cookies (about 5" across) meaning fewer cookies to frost. The cutters are also very easy to clean. And, at $3 a piece, I can afford to add a few to my collection each year.I do not find the snowflake shape quite as easy to use as some of the others. Because of all of the small details and protruding parts, I have a little difficulty at times removing the cookie dough from the cutter, though granted I don't have the best fine motor skills. Also, the resemblence to a snowflake (as opposed to a leaf or something) is already somewhat tenuous, and with baking, the cookie expands and loses definition. Other than the fact that they had white frosting and it was winter, I'm not really sure that they were easily identifiable as snowflakes. My kids loved it though!Still, if you like the shape, this is a high-quality cookie cutter that will last for years.

It seemed not even the other avid bakers had a snowflake cookie cutter so I bought up a few and am giving them as gifts. It's a perfect size and the results are great. I gave as an early gift to a friend who is very particular and she gave it her nod of approval. I am gifting it in a basket with some decorated snowflake cookies and a christmas apron. How's that for the Christmas spirit?
