You can watch a video on youtube from globalsugarart that teaches you how to use these correctly. The video is extremely helpful and recommends using Mexican paste instead of fondant and gumpaste. There are also other helpful videos on there as well. As a professional cake designer I'm always up for learning new and helpful techniques and these videos did not disappoint! When I first looked into these cutters I thought it would be annoying that they were all connected too; but there is a purpose and a reason they are called "tappits" and it is depicted in this video.

I was sad when I opened the package to find that the letters were not separated. The letters are attach and I find it annoying that I have to turn the stensil at different angles just to get the letter I want. Plus it doesn't makea clean cut, the gumpaste sticks to the stensil and its just plain old annoying. I only used it once and was thinking about returning it but since I openedhe package I just decided to keep it. But all in all I don't like it. And I'm upset because I got such good reviews and I read the reviews on each product I purchase so that i won't be dissappointed. So who ever reads this review I suggest that you invest your money in another product. The worst part of it all is the I also purchae the lower case and its the same annoying headache. I purchase the second one before the first one got home.. sucks!! Anyway I just want aletter cutout that comes individually separted that does the job and this was NOT IT ! Boo!!

I have been using Tappits for a couple yrs now. I could not live without them! once you figure out how to use them its a breeze. Best advice is to let the fondant sit out for 10-15 minutes and then use them. They come right out with a few hard taps on the table after that.
