It was difficult finding a cutter large enough for "hand pies" as they are called. This is perfect for making turnovers or "jacks" filled with fruit, sweet or savory fillings.

After ordering this item, Chicago Metallic Non-Stick Cup Pie Set, and reading how many people who owned the pie tin did NOT like the enclosed plastic cutter, I kept looking on amazon for a more professional style cutter and ordered this one. I'm beyond pleased with the performance of it! Sharp cutting edge; nice rolled edge on top; cut out dough circles in one push down onto dough; and very easy to clean up.NOTE: If you worry about this item rusting, here is what I do with 100% of my cookie and dough cutters: Once the baked item(s) you used the cutter on comes out of the oven, I place my washed and dried cutters on a cookie sheet in the still hot oven (that has been turned OFF) and allow them to dry until the oven is cold. It works like a charm and after 50+ years of doing this to my cutters, I have 0% rust on any of them!
